April 8 Wednesday

Good Morning! Yesterday was another beautiful day! Did you get to play outside? I hope so!

Let’s begin our day thanking God for all the beauty around us:

All things bright and beautiful
        All things great and small
All things wise and wonderful
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens
        Each little bird that sings
He made their glowing colors
        He made their tiny wings.

He gave us eyes to see them
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty
Who has made all things well.

Please say the Pledge of Allegiance.

Please email me by 10:00 AM so I can take and submit attendance.

We have Gym Class with Mrs. McFadden at 8:19. Please check her blog for her lesson.

rain, say, play, stay, pail, train, chain, wait, day, away)

*tell your child you will say a word, if the word has a Long ā they should stand up tall with arms over their head, if the word has short ă they should crouch down small. Say these words: rain, man, chain, sad, tap, play brain, paid, stay, wait, bag, tail, pail, fan, ran

‘What problems did the girl have? (paid a lot for the ride; had to wait in a long line; it rained)

‘Where will the girl go next? (back to Spain)

‘Why do you think this? (it is a fun place)

Title: Animals Should Definitely NOT Wear Clothing

Author: Judi Barrett

Illustrator: Ron Barrett

If your child needs practice ask:

‘What does the author do?’ (writes the words)
‘What does the illustrator do? (draws the pictures)

*discuss vocabulary words
disastrous-(when something turns out completely wrong)
unnecessary-(something you do not need to do or have)

(remind them the prefix un- means ‘not’, if we think about the word necessary as something we need, unnecessary is something you do not need)

*listen  and watch book on youtube.com

Ask:         ‘What was funny about how the camels wore the hats?’
(on the humps)

‘Why was the mouse having trouble with her hat?’ (it was too big)

‘Why did the giraffe look silly?’ (too many ties)

‘Since a walrus spends so much time in the water, what kind of clothing might be better for him?’ (swim suit)

‘Think of the picture of the elephant and the lady, it said it might be embarrassing. Who might be embarrassed? Why? (the lady because an elephant is wearing the same outfit as her)

Make 2 Cards
I have a special job for you. Some people living in assisted living homes (Remember we read the book Wifred Gordon McDonald Partridge? Wilfred visited his friends living in an assisted living home) and right now no one is allowed to come visit them.

They are feeling a bit lonely.
It would be so nice if you could make 2 cards.

We don’t know the names of the people getting the cards, so we can call them Special Friend

Make 2 cards telling the things like:
                Hello
                I am thinking of you
                Happy Easter
                I am praying for you
Or anything you think will make them happy.

Make the front of the card look special.
I will put 2 bags in the brown wooden box by the front door of the Lower School.

One will say Father Anthony and the other will say Mrs. Valdes. (They are going to drop them off to the assisted living homes.)

If you could drop them off by Friday that would be Terrific!

Thank you for doing this kind job to help others, just like Jesus did kind things to help others!

Remember even when we can’t go visit each other, we can be united in prayer!
